About The Sculpture - The logo of the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation is the oldest military insignia in continuous use in the Unites States. It first appeared, as shown here, on the Marine Corps buttons adopted in 1804. With the stars changed to five points, this device has continued on Marine Corps Uniform Buttons to present day. - In the Fall of 1993, the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation commissioned me to make a sculpture of the Eagle & Anchor.
