Steel Hand by ken Clark

About 'Steel Hand'- .It was 1976 when design work for the Juniata Park , Philadelphia , Commission led me to the lost mold process to create a figure in cast cr steel . A process known in Industry but unknown in Sculpture. At a meeting with City Officials about the preliminary presentation of the sculpture to The Art Commission, an example of cast process was requested. On my walk home from that meeting, I picked up a piece of styrene foam from the city street and began to shape my hand from it. The foam sculpture went to the foundry and this is the result.. The first corrosion resistant cast steel sculpture

Continued Work - After The Juniata Park came 'Child' at Hancock Park and 'Caring' at The Perth & Addison Park
